Summer Service & Feature Ideas

Summer Service & Feature Ideas

It's finally summer! (well almost) And we're gearing up with some fresh treatment menu additions and add-ons. Here are some ideas:

  • Complimentary or discounted SPF with any facial service.

Getting a product in a client's hand or giving that extra incentive to book the facial can be an excellent return on investment in the long run.

  • Back and/or body treatments.

If you don't already offer this service, this is the season to start. It can also be a seasonal offering for those in colder climates. As for pricing, we suggest around 20% less than your starting facial price and about 25% less time. This is simply because most can't lay on their stomach as long as they can their back. Our favorite products for back treatments: Zena's Light Cleansing Foam and TC Acne Peel.    The first due to its light acidity to thoroughly cleanse and degrease the stubborn back area. The peel is great, as it helps control sebum and oil in an area not reached as often--also for skin not necessarily prone to acne.

  • If summer is usually a slower time, consider offering an abbreviated facial.

"Express Facial", "Mini Facial" "Intro Treatment" ...we've heard it called many names. Some are opposed to this idea,  as it can "cheapen" the experience or suggest that we have a script for facials. I definitely understand this sentiment, and teeter on the idea in our spa. If you feel, however, that it might be a good intro into your offerings in the future and/or you need to fill books during a slow time, then this is one way to do it.

  • After the Summer-Sun Facial

Whether it's because their skin was sunburned (eek) or as a way to relax and cool down, a treatment that focuses on cooling, soothing, and infuses anti-oxidants like Vitamin C scream summer to me. A cryo tool like the dermacoolers over a sheet mask or with the Fau Centella Calming Gel as glide are a few ways to offer a heat reprieve. A gentler exfoliate like the Fau Bakuchiol Peel is ideal for warm-weather exfoliation, utilizing the anti-oxidant bakuchiol and the antimicrobial properties of succinic acid. For the Vitamin C dose to support sun protection and fight free radicals, the Vit C Oxygen Booster treatment is perfect way to infuse the antioxidants into the skin. Also, the long-time favorite, Bravity VitaFlex 91 serum, can be used in multiple ways during a facial and a perfect morning homecare product.

I hope this helps! Happy Summer! You can find me in the shade, dripping with SPF 50+
